I know I have been promising a blog about our trip to Hollywood and here I am again writing about something else. I promise it is on my to-do list and eventually I will tell you about it so stay tuned!

I continue to be amazed at how unique each of our boys are. Why I’m amazed I don’t know but I think sometimes it kind of scares me! Parker and Ayden (the older two) are different but all in all they actually have a lot in common and have always (give or take a few bad days here or there) followed our instruction well. Then came September of 2005 when our precious pride and joy, Griffin Chaucer Jones arrived. He is a breed all his own. I love, love, love them all equally but he is a piece of work! He did everything early from crawling to walking to talking. When he was 18 months he was at the doctor’s office and the doctor about fell out of his chair when he said “Can I have a sucker now please.” I guess 18 month olds don’t usually talk in complete sentences. Griffin has always done things his own way and very enthusiastically. He likes to climb, sing, dance and wrestle. As far as following instruction. . . well, let’s just say we’ve invested in every CD & book “Love & Logic” has to offer. The cool thing about Griff is you never know what you are going to get. He also has a deep obsession with shoes. He must be wearing a pair at all times. Like right now, he is running around our house in his underwear with Ayden’s tennis shoes on singing “The Brady Bunch”.

Then there was the day several months ago when he was at the doctor again and decided to give the nurse a piece of his mind. (Now, I must push pause on this story and give my disclaimer. . . I know many of you will look down on me as a parent for what I’m about to tell you my child said but there are also the normal people out there who will feel better about their own parenting because their child has said something just as bad! So really, in telling this story I am only trying to help others. :) I mean really, who’s perfect? . . . ok, if you are then please contact me because I would like to take some lessons. Press Play.) Apparently, Griffin was in a bad mood that day and was tired of the nurse messing with him and trying to talk to him. When she turned to walk out of our room (and luckily had the door half-way shut) my grouchy two year old clearly yelled, “get out of here bench.” To say I was mortified would be an understatement. I had recently been talking with a woman that was very emotionally upset and had thrown out a few bad words accidentally in front of him. Of course he remembered it! And to further my embarrasement he went ahead and yelled it out another time the nurse exited the room! Now, so you don’t think he is a little hellion, he is also very very loving and sweet! He is always the first to share with his brothers, to give his momma love and he tells me on a regular basis, “You so bootiful!” He just likes to do things his own way. So, when we recently had our family photos taken (www.jbellephotography.com – she is awesome!) I wasn’t surprised when Griffin decided he was done taking pictures about five shots in. I love this picture because it best depicts the personalities of the “Jones” family! Griffin decided he did not want to take anymore pictures so he is lying in my lap pretending to be asleep! That’s my boy! Gotta love him!

The look on Griffin’s face just cracks me up in this one. I think he might have been growling at the photographer!
