Keeping Up With the Jones Princess and Boys

Oops, we did it again!

Posted on August 5th, 2008.

Actually, there was no oops this time.  We are proud to announce the first somewhat planned pregnancy in the Jones’ household .  You’ve got it. . . we are expecting our fourth child in February.  I’ve been dying to tell everyone but as some of you know we had a miscarriage last December and after that shock we’ve been a little nervous this time around.  Thankfully, so far everything is going well!  We just told the boys tonight and they are so excited (they’ve been praying every night since the miscarriage that Mommy would get another baby in her tummy)!!  Parker wants a baby sister, Ayden wants a baby brother and Griffin wants (in his words) “nothing.”

I thought in honor of the big announcement I would answer some of the pregnancy related questions that I know some of you can’t wait to ask us when you see us (and that we’ve been asked before).  So, here you go:

Question:  What did Bill say?
Answer:  Well, I put the pregnancy test on his desk and he came to me with it and said, “What is this supposed to mean?”  (You’d think after seeing a few of these before he’d remember!)  He was happy this time unlike when I told him about Ayden and he threw himself against a wall crying “Dear God, No!” as he slid down to the floor (he was a little stressed out about the finances at the time . . .bless his big heart).  I’d say this time was a much better response.  :)

Question:  Do you know what causes this (I’ve actually been asked this)?
Answer:  Well, after Griffin was born we started to figure out what might be the cause.  Now, after almost 9 years of marriage . . . (I deleted the rest of my response after much thought because it was a little “off-color” shall we say) :)

Question:  Do you own a TV?
Answer:  Yes, but we’re pretty sure it didn’t get me pregnant.

Question:  What are you going to do with four kids?
Answer:  Well, we were thinking about starting a sweat shop but it’s too expensive to move to China.

Question:  Are you going to find out what you’re having?
Answer:  Yes, and we sure hope it’s a baby.

Question:  Were you trying for a girl this time?
Answer:  Not really but I did stand on my head for 30 minutes after “the conception” followed by a 15 minute chant of “girl, girl, girl, girl, girl.”  But we weren’t really trying.

I know, I have a twisted sense of humor!  All kidding aside (and I was kidding on most of those answers), we are ecstatic about the new little life God has blessed us with and we can’t wait to find out what “kind” it is!

P.S.  I haven’t told my boss yet so Paula, if you’re reading this, I really was going to tell you on Thursday!  :)

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.

I love your responses! I say don’t stop until the church pew is filled! How much more can a couple show the world their love for each other, and the love that GOD has for us in giving us children. By your sacrifice of un-selfishness, you show your faith in GOD knowing he will provide for you. Tell the boys their uncle Chris sends his love!

    I Love You

    Your Big Brother!!
