If you follow the news (well, entertainment and other random news stories) like me you’ve probably heard about all of the silly things some churches have put on their marquees lately and gotten major backlash for.  I really couldn’t help but laugh very loudly (I think in disbelief) when I heard about the “I kissed a girl” church marquee.  Come on people are you really that stupid?  Do you really think that “ministers to” or “reaches” ANYONE??  Ok, I’m not very good at expressing my theological beliefs like the pastors are on their blogs so I’ll stop at that.  If you haven’t heard about this story, just google it.  It will make you both laugh and be sad that there are “Christians” that alienate people like that.

While driving into my big town of Trophy Club this week I got another great quote from our town’s marquee.  I wanted to stop and take a picture but one of our two town policemen were parked waiting for speeders and I didn’t think they’d like it if I stopped in the middle of the street to take a picture with my iPhone.  Anyway, the marquee said, “Cub Scout Rally this Week at Meth Church”.  I couldn’t help but laugh as I pondered telling everyone we take our kids to the Meth Church for Cub Scouts.  It’s funny what people put on marquees without thinking!

And on another note it’s also funny what people say to pregnant women without thinking.  If you are a man/boy please stop reading at this point.  I’ll write another post for you later.  Trust me you don’t want to read on.  Stop it!  Ok, so now that I just have the women reading here’s a little secret for those of you who may not know.  DO NOT go up to another woman and tell her “Oh my gosh, you’re boobs are so huge!” And then stare at her and them like you’ve never seen anything like it.  And then repeat four more times “Oh my gosh, they’re so huge” followed with a “Does that hurt for them to be that huge?”  First of all, this person (or me) already feels like Pamela Anderson and does not need you pointing out the obvious.  Secondly, how is this person (or me) supposed to respond to that?  Well, this person (or me) will probably just tell you that yes they do look like Pamela Anderson and I guess you better get ready because it’s only going to get worse!  Then this person (or me) walks around for the rest of the day with their arms crossed in an attempt to try and make the obvious look somewhat smaller by causing everyone to focus on the fact that her arms have gotten fatter!  Yes, this incident did happen to this person (or me) this week and it was very awkward and lowered my already non-existent self-esteem below negative!  Thanks for listening, I just had to get that off my chest (no pun intended)!  And men I know you kept reading and didn’t heed my warning so now you wish you hadn’t!

I’ll try and think of something really positive and upbeat to write about next time!  I know. . . Christmas lights and puppies (I’m not even kidding)!!!!
