Love at first sight!

Well, I actually loved her long before I ever saw her but I had no idea how much my heart would want to explode with love once we actually met face to face!  Our sweet little London Kate Jones arrived to meet us at 12:15pm on Monday, February 16, 2009.  She weighed 7lbs 10 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.  She is an absolute angel!  Now don’t start thinking I’m going to be playing favorites with my kids now that I have a little girl because I’m not!  I love them all equally but come on they are all different and unique in their own special ways!  Sweet little London has been the most laid back of all the Jones’ babies.  This has been a huge blessing since I have not been feeling so hot.  She literally just eats, sleeps, looks around a bit and goes back to sleep.  She has maybe cried a total of five minutes the entire 12 days she has been alive (and that includes during the 10 heel pricks she has had since birth. . . she has slept through most of them).  She makes the sweetest little faces and has the most adorable little expressions.  We love her so much!  I still can’t believe I have a daughter.  I keep asking Bill if he can believe it and he says yes he can since I’m standing there holding her.  Not exactly what I was looking for but ok!  :)   I know she is not a baby-doll but I am having so much fun getting her dressed in her cutie little outfits every day.  Boys are fun in so many other ways but it’s kind of hard to get excited about their clothes!

And speaking of the boys they all love her so very much.  They get really excited when she opens her eyes (since she sleeps most of the time) and whoever discovers that she is awake will run throughout the house alerting the other brothers that “she has her eyes open.”  They all come running and just talk to her and love on her.  It’s too sweet!  They are learning all about how girls are different than boys.  Apparently Ayden and Griffin had a big argument in front of the nursery window right after she was born about whether or not she had a “male part”.  Her umbilical cord had not been fully cut off yet and still had about 3 inches or so hanging down.  Ayden was certain this was her “male part” and Griffin was adamant that it wasn’t.  I’m glad I was in recovery still so I didn’t have to be publicly embarrassed by my children yelling about “weiners” in the middle of the hall!

Sweet London has been very jaundiced which is why she has had so many blood tests.  We are waiting for the results of todays test as I type.  It should be on its way down so hopefully her little “glow” will be getting better soon.  I could type on and on about her but I know it gets annoying for you all to read at some point!  :)

On a side note I do want to say thank you to all of our sweet friends and family that have prayed for us, called, emailed, sent messages, brought meals, etc. over the last two weeks.  Most of you know that I experienced some sort of side-effect from the spinal I got for the c-section that has caused a lot of severe pain in my neck and tingling in my head.  It was quite scary at first because I didn’t know what was going on.  I didn’t have the typical symptoms of a “spinal headache” and so I was a little freaked out.  I was further freaked out after going to the ER on Sunday night and the doctor being less than re-assuring or helpful.  Thankfully, I was able to see my doctor, Dr. Michael White (whom I love and I will be doing an entire post about later) on Monday and he ordered the MRI which turned out to be normal.  I’m still having some pain in my neck and shoulders but I am getting better and able to do more around the house.  So, all that to say. . . thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and concern you have shown in so many ways.  I wasn’t able to respond to most of you but please know I did read all of your messages on Facebook, emails, texts, etc. and they mean so much to me!  Love to you all!
