And the Oscar Goes to . . .
Posted on April 21st, 2009.Around here we give out Oscars for things other than an amazing performance in a motion picture! Now that you’re thoroughly confused as to what this post is about I’ll start over. The constant battle at this house is over picking up toys in the playroom. Why? I do not know! We’ve tried every type of motivation possible and to no avail the battle rages on! But, today was a new day! And it wasn’t because I came up with some great motivator. In fact, it happened all on it’s own. This morning why the big boys were at school my sweet little Griffin decided to pick up the playroom all by himself. You have NO idea how huge this is because he rarely even contributes to the picking up when the brothers are home. He was so proud of himself. Bill and I both lavished the praise on when he finished and he felt so accomplished (he’s only 3 you know!). So, as any normal mother would do I decided to award him with a trophy for his accomplishment. He always looks at his brother’s baseball trophies and wishes he had one so I knew this would be special to him. It just so happens I was going to give him a trophy about 6 months ago and had one made. Me being “Mother of the Year” forgot about it and it’s been in the top of my closet until now! So this afternoon Griffin Jones was awarded with a trophy for “Brother of the Year”. That’s right, I had it engraved and everything! Why, did I choose the one that looks like an Oscar out of the 3,511 choices for trophies? I don’t know. . . cause I’m weird like that I guess (and I thought the man kind of looked like a brother and I thought it would be funny to give my kid an Oscar. . . and I’m weird like that)! So I had to post about this because I told him I was going to tell the world about his accomplishment! He just wanted to know if he could take his trophy to Heaven and show God and Grampsy!
